I was out on the scooter today and came across a male birdwing butterfly with wings extended , which is very unusual  as they are usually always fluttering the wings ,making phot. taking very hard . I think this poor butterfly was not in the best of health as it  was not flying ,only moving by  crawling over the plants and logs .I will check again tomorrow to see if is still there.I  have put the following photos on as they show both top and undersides of the butterfly. .
