Odontonema strictum common name Fire spike , an old fashioned plant only seen in old gardens now I used to have one 20 years ago so am happy to have it again as it attracts buttrerflies and has no pests.

This used to be such a common sight in gardens. But as you say, it's really only seen in the old gardens these days. It always puts on such a great show when it blooms and it seems a shame it's lost favour.

I agree ,same thing happpened with Hibiscus mutabilis double, took me ages to find a nursery that still sold it, I have passed so many cuttings around its no longer forgotten.
